Many people forget things that they have stored in these places.

□If you are moving yourself, verify that your “help” will be there on the day of your move, at the right time. Go ahead and arrange to have plenty of bottled water or drinks on hand, and if you think your move will take all day-arrange a lunch for everyone!

□Scout out the new area (if possible) in person, on the internet, or through your real estate agent to find: -a Laundromat (in case yours doesn’t get hooked up right away) -drop-in childcare -a hospital -an animal hospital -favorite fast food restaurants -the post office -your favorite house ware store (i.e., Wal-Mart, Target) -a grocery store

What to pack in your car if you’re using a moving company: Paper plates, napkins, cups, plastic cutlery, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, wet wipes, soap, a small TV with cables (don’t forget the remote), coffee maker & coffee, sleeping bags & pillows, small trash can & bags, folding camp chairs are great!, ibuprofen (or Tylenol, or aspirin, or whatever!), a telephone, an alarm clock, some pet food & water, if you will have to wait for your refrigerator it’s a good idea to pack a small cooler, a map of the new area, and your address book. Mail your new address announcements as soon as possible after you arrive, so your friends and family can find you! Give yourself 6 weeks to settle in, and then host a housewarming party! HAPPY MOVING!
